Eric Rose: Artist in Residence Haus of Dada
Eric is an award-winning director, deviser, playwright, educator, and the Artistic Director of Calgary’s acclaimed Ghost River Theatre. His work is characterized by a striking audio-visual aesthetic that embraces the impossible; constantly reframing and rediscovering what theatre is and is capable of. Mr. Rose’s passion for the creative process has inspired the diversity of his theatrical experience spanning large scale contemporary and classical theatre, site-specific and immersive performance, experiential design, installation, performance creation, devising theatre, new play development, physical theatre, and dance. He has taught for the Young Vic in London, Prague Quadrennial of Performance and Design, Kathy Knowles Theatre Company in Accra, Revolutions International Festival in Albuquerque, across Canada and at various post-secondary institutions and festivals. Mr. Rose has been honoured to be the Playwright in Residence at Alberta Theatre Projects, he was on Avenue Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40 list and to have received the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Artist Award for his body of work as a theatrical innovator.
Lisa Anita Wegner: Lead Artist and Performer
Lisa is an award-winning, mid-career filmmaker, performer and artist, and the Artistic Director of Mighty Brave Productions, a small multi-media creation company. Her practice is centered around immersive environments that invite the audience into her universe created through Realistic Confabulation. This blending of her real-life history with wild fictions of other worlds and times, is a key element in the work. Over the past twenty five years, Lisa has gained renown for her film, performance and other wordly multi-sensory immersive environments. She is focused on public art, with a robust and growing menu of artist and audience accessibility options that position the audience at the centre of the work. She has partnered with arts organizations such as ArtworxTO, Summerworks, Nuit Blanche, Partners In Art, Long Winter Arts, Rendezvous With Madness, Montreal World Film Festival & Florence Contemporary Gallery in the UK. Wegner’s 2022 Public Art project received support from Canada Council for the Arts, Ontario Arts Council, City of Toronto, with private investments from Partners In Art and the National Creation Fund. Lisa lives with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, which she considers the entry point of pure creative potential.
Sage Lovell: The Deaf Oracle of Elsewhere
Sage Lovell is an artist, writer and entrepreneur. Being Deaf, Queer, Disabled and Neurodivergent; they are an artist who likes to work their magic, using different art mediums to shift perspective and spaces. Over the past decade, Sage has worked with different communities in multiple capacities to develop meaningful work that continues to evolve. With their multitude of talents, they were able to incorporate their passion for interweaving media, language, performance, and accessibility into works of art. In 2020, Sage won an award from ArtEquity for their advocacy in the arts community. In 2019, Sage was a finalist for the Community Arts Award (Toronto Arts Foundation). In 2018, Sage won the 2nd place Defty Award (Canadian Cultural Society of the Deaf) for their ASL poetry production of “The Four Elements.” Sage collaborated with Wegner in Intangible Adorations Caravan, developping creative accessibility in an earlier version of this work.
Stephanie Avery: The Elsewhere Illustrator
Stephanie is a Toronto-based multi-disciplinary artist whose work thrives at the intersection of interactivity, reclamation, and playful critique. Her practice balances joy, curiosity, and skepticism. Through “AdHacks,” salvaged ads become canvases for absurd, humorous interventions; her murals blend whimsy and activism; her interactive installations encourage viewers to rethink what we accept as everyday. To recognize her contributions, she received Best in Show at The Artist Project—an accolade that underscores both her critical depth and her ability to enchant, engage, and provoke. Her art is a reminder that transformation is everywhere; we only need to open our eyes. Stephanie collaborated with Wegner on Intangible Adorations Caravan painting the ten foot tall critically acclaimed carnival banners.
